STAY STRONG

BRANDING SUITE

Since 2003 the Aboriginal and Islander Mental health initiative (AIMhi) team have promoted “Stay Strong” as a strengths-based approach to yarning about mental health.

‘Stay Strong’ is dedicated to improving the health, balance and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. In 2022 the AIMhi team, formed a co-design partnership with Studio Veld and Colleen Strangways, a proud South Australian Arabana and Northern Territory Mudbura Warlpiri woman, to develop a new visual identity.

The vision was to co-design a new brand that represents the heart of their work: the health, balance and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

CO-DESIGN COLLABORATION

Studio Veld, the AIMhi team across NT, Alice Springs and Adelaide, and local artist Colleen Strangways undertook a co-design process to develop the Stay Strong logo.

Colleen is a proud South Australian Arabana and Northern Territory Mudbura Warlpiri woman, who grew up in Alice Springs and moved to Adelaide SA to be closer to family.

Because of Colleen’s unique ability to capture award-winning photography via her Business Nharla Photography, she is being recognised on various national and international media platforms. Colleen runs a printing business NHARLA PRINTING and brought her artistic and cultural understanding to the team. Working with Colleen has been an absolute privilege and we look forward to collaborating with her in the future.
